Subaru Outback vs. Toyota RAV4

Performance

When the weather gets bad or the terrain gets rough, you can drive with more confidence in any of our new Subaru Outback models. That's because every new Subaru Outback model comes with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system sends power to all four wheels continuously. If any of your tires slip in bad weather or on rough terrain, the system automatically diverts the power to the wheels with the most traction, allowing you to maintain optimal grip and control. The Toyota RAV4 lineup comes equipped with standard front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available at an extra cost on all models.

The new Toyota RAV4 lineup offers more standard horsepower than the Subaru Outback models do. Both vehicles have a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, with the RAV4 offering 201-horsepower to the 182-horsepower offered in the Outback. However, the RAV4 is only available with that one engine, which could leave you wanting for a stronger performance. The Outback lineup features an available 2.4-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine with 260-horsepower and 277 pounds-feet of torque.

All Subaru Outback models have a continuously variable automatic transmission, providing you with a smooth and responsive driving experience without the clunky changing of gears. The Toyota RAV4 lineup comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission on all models.

Technology

Both the Subaru Outback and Toyota RAV4 models come equipped with a state-of-the-art infotainment system to help you stay connected on the go around Prosser. The Subaru Outback offers a standard 7-inch touchscreen on the base model, while all other models come with a large 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen that performs just like a tablet would, giving you easy access and control of calls, apps, maps, messages, and more as you're traveling around Sunnyside. The Toyota RAV4 offers an 8-inch touchscreen standard, with a 10.5-inch touchscreen available on higher trim levels.

Size

The new Subaru Outback models have more space for you and your passengers to stretch out while traveling around Moses Lake, offering 109 cubic feet of passenger volume compared to 98.9 cubic feet in the Toyota RAV4. You also can enjoy more maximum cargo space in the Outback, with 75.7 cubic feet of space compared to 69.8 in the RAV4.
