McCurley Subaru of Yakima Spreads Hope - Tovi E
On June 25th, McCurley Subaru of Yakima partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and North Star Lodge Providence through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. This partnership involved delivering blankets, patient care kits, and messages of hope to cancer patients. This year, McCurley Subaru of Yakima will also support the LLS Urgent Need Program, Pediatric, which will provide 10 pediatric blood cancer patient households with financial relief to help offset non-medical costs associated with treatment, such as transportation, food, housing, utilities, etc. It was an amazing delivery day filled with kindness and connection. Through McCurley Subaru of Yakima participation in these programs, it shows they care. McCurley Subaru of Yakima consistently shows up and shows out for their community, and that impact was felt on the delivery day. North Star Lodge Providence was a joy to work with, and we were so happy they were the recipients of McCurley Subaru of Yakima donation this year. We are so grateful to work and live in a community that takes care of one another. It’s Not Just a Blanket, It’s a Reminder You’re Not Alone - Justin H
At McCurley Subaru of Yakima, we believe showing up matters. On June 25th, our team brought 80 warm blankets, 30 patient care kits, and handwritten messages of hope to North Star Lodge at MultiCare Cancer Institute. North Star Lodge is not just some medical building. It is where families from Yakima and beyond come when life gets hard. With Yakima’s poverty rate close to 19 percent and more than a quarter of kids growing up below the poverty line, a cancer diagnosis hits even harder here. We are not there to fix everything, but we can show up and do something small that helps make those hard days feel a little lighter. North Star Lodge has been leading cancer care in Central Washington for decades. They offer radiation therapy, infusion care, clinical trials, and support services like counseling and nutrition help, all right here in town. People come from all over, but it still feels local. When we dropped off the blankets and care kits, it was not about making a big deal. It felt more like showing up for your neighbors. That is what the Subaru Love Promise means to us. It is not about making a big deal out of it. It is about showing up, offering a little encouragement, and reminding people they are not doing this alone. Sometimes a warm blanket or a kind message is exactly what someone needs that day.

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Tri-Cities, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why McCurley Subaru of Yakima is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like McCurley Subaru of Yakima have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/17/2025, McCurley Subaru of Yakima donated 252 coats & 252 shoes/socks to YWCA of Yakima. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

At McCurley Subaru of Yakima, we believe every child deserves to feel warm, safe, and cared for. This winter, we proudly partnered with YWCA Yakima to bring that belief to life through Operation Warm, a heartfelt initiative that provided 252 new coats, 252 pairs of shoes, and 504 pairs of socks to local families in need. As temperatures dropped, our teams loaded up Subaru vehicles and delivered not just essential items but comfort, dignity, and hope across the Yakima Valley. YWCA Yakima’s unwavering commitment to empowering families deeply inspired us. Their team works daily to support survivors, uplift communities, and create brighter futures, and we’re honored to play a part in their mission. This partnership is a reminder that even one act of kindness can ripple through a community and that together, we can make a lasting impact.

I appreciate the fact that the salespeople take personal responsibility to make sure I am taken care of not only at the time of purchase but also anytime I have questions or concerns. At McCurley Subaru of Yakima, love means more than just a word—it’s a promise. This spring, that promise came to life through a generous $5,000 donation to Cowiche Canyon Conservancy (CCC), a local nonprofit committed to protecting the wild beauty of Central Washington’s shrub-steppe landscapes. For over forty years, Cowiche Canyon Conservancy has served as a steward of shrub-steppe, oak woodlands, and riparian habitat just minutes from downtown Yakima. These lands are not only home to diverse wildlife and native plants—they're also a living classroom for kids and a sanctuary for families, hikers, runners, bikers, birders, and anyone seeking a deeper connection to the land. Thanks to McCurley Subaru of Yakima’s support, CCC will continue to expand its education programs, maintain over 50 miles of public trails, and ensure future generations can enjoy this landscape as we do today. The funding helps support conservation, stewardship, restoration, and educational walks and talks that engage hundreds of youth and adults with our local landscape —many for the first time. "This partnership helps us engage our community and protect the incredible natural heritage that makes the Yakima Valley so special." McCurley Subaru of Yakima has been a partner with The Salvation Army for many years. The food items received from McCurley help feed the senior's of our community as well. So often seniors do not get the nutrition they need on a daily basis. The Salvation Army, prepares a hot meal 3 days a week for seniors to come enjoy a hot meal, fellowship, and activities. Helping Local Children Through the Subaru Share the Love® Event - Justin H
At McCurley Subaru of Yakima, we believe in giving back to our community. That’s why, during this year’s Subaru Share the Love® Event, we proudly partnered with The Memorial Foundation to support healthcare programs that transform lives in Central Washington. One story that highlights this impact is Zane’s. Born at Yakima Memorial, Zane faced a life-threatening infection that resulted in the loss of his legs and fingers. Thanks to the care and resources provided by Children’s Village, supported by The Memorial Foundation, Zane received specialized pediatric therapies that helped him thrive. Today, at just four years old, Zane is walking with prosthetics and living life to the fullest. These contributions directly support programs like Children’s Village, which has helped over 6,650 visits for children with special healthcare needs. Together with Subaru and The Memorial Foundation, we’re shaping a healthier future for our community. Thank you for joining us in making a difference and helping children like Zane.

At McCurley Subaru of Yakima, we are proud to share the incredible impact of our Wheels Make Wishes Come True Event, held from August through September 15th. Thanks to the support of our customers and community, every vehicle purchased during this event helped grant wishes for children right here in our local community. We also want to highlight the success of this year’s Corvettes on the Columbia Event, where we partnered with Make-A-Wish Alaska & Washington and the 3 Rivers Corvette Club for the 14th consecutive year. Over the years, we’ve developed a very close and involved relationship with our Eastern Washington Make-A-Wish representatives, working together to create one of the biggest fundraisers for children with critical illnesses in Washington State. Together, we’ve made dreams come true for children who need it most. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors and this amazing community for their unwavering support. Your generosity is truly making a difference in the lives of local children and their families.
